Volunteer
The Dane County Immunization Coalition is proud to support immunization events! These events help increase access to life-saving vaccines and are made possible by volunteers.
Roles for Volunteers Include:
- Greeter – welcome people to the clinic and determine if they have pre-registered or if they are a walk-in. Ensure people have completed the necessary paperwork.
- Assist with completion of paperwork – be available to answer questions regarding screening form and demographic form
- Registration (walk ins and pre-registered) – confirm completion of paperwork for pre-registered individuals and send vaccine order to prep area. Registration of walk-ins require individuals with access to WIR and an understanding of vaccination schedules.
- Runners – transfer information from registration to the vaccine prep area
- Vaccine prep – must have experience in preparing vaccines for administration
- Escorting individuals from waiting area to vaccinator – obtaining vaccine from vaccine prep and bringing individual from waiting area to open vaccinator
- Vaccinators – experience providing IM and subcutaneous vaccinations required
- Post vaccine monitoring – monitoring individuals for potential reactions and coordinating appropriate response (must have clinical experience)
- Post vaccine assistance – offering water, snacks, answering questions
